The January 28th Board Meeting marked the second meeting of the year and provided an opportunity to reflect on a year of progress, collaboration and adaptability for the Chamber. Throughout the year, the Board will remained focused on advocating for the local business community while addressing emerging economic, workforce and community safety priorities.

Key discussion over the year included:

• Business and Economic Development: Ongoing dialogue around local business challenges, economic conditions, and opportunities for sustainable growth in the region.
• Labour Market & Workforce Needs: Development and review of workforce and labour-needs surveys to better understand shortages and identify practical; community driven solutions. The link to the survey is : https://forms.office.com/r/hZU1eLTL4q
• Member Engagement & Events: Planning and evaluation of Chamber events, networking opportunities, and guest speaker sessions aimed at providing value and timely information to members.
• Community Safety & Partnerships: Engagement with RCMP and other stakeholders to ensure businesses remain informed about public safety trends and community priorities.
• Governance & Operations: Regular review of financial updates, operational matters, and strategic planning to ensure transparency and continuity.

During the year, leadership continuity was maintained with the appointment of Jatin as the new General Manager. Jatin has taken on the role with dedication and professionalism and is committed to contributing positively to the growth, advocacy and long-term success of the local business community.

The board closed the year with a strong foundation and a shared commitment to supporting members and advancing the Chamber’s mission in the year ahead.
