About Us
What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A chamber of commerce is a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board that strives to ensure our mission and vision are realized.
- To promote the general business interests of the members.
- To foster the growth of commerce and industry in a particular area or region.
- To collaborate with community organizations to ensure our community thrives. Business cannot prosper without a healthy community.
Both businesses and individuals can become members, whether or not they are actively involved in trade and commerce.
We Benefit Our Community Through:
Provincial Lobbying
We actively participate in the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Policy Resolution discussions. Approved policies are advocated for on a provincial and federal level.
The Chamber is always lobbying all levels of government, municipal, provincial, federal. Our connections and by extension our members to Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and the Canadian Chambers of Commerce give us a very big voice on issues important to business.
Shop Local Campaigns
The Thompson Chamber of Commerce promotes shopping at local businesses through different campaigns – radio and newspaper advertising, social media promotions, gift card giveaways, etc. Local businesses support local teams, events, socials, charities and fund raising. We need to spend local to support our local businesses.
